The Building

The design for a double high-rise office building in a prime location in Frankfurt devised for a competition in 2001 won by KSP Engel und Zimmermann Architects.

The WestendDuo is 96 meters high. The south tower stands parallel to Bockenheimer Landstrasse, while its northern counterpart stands perpendicular to the layout of the Westend.

The two slender towers incorporate the different street grids and are rotated toward each other concealing their true size from the facing residential areas.

In order to address issues of flexibility, the new edifice has been conceived for different possible tenants.

Folded concrete ceilings generate pillar-free space and minimize heights, allowing for the height to accommodate an additional storey.

The old Miquel-Villa and trees on the ground have been preserved.
