The Project

The design brief for the Cenere fashion store required the architect to not just redefine its identity through a transformation and remodeling of its space, but to understand and develop branding strategies for it through their design.

The architect attempts to ascribe lightness to the ambiance of the store by eliminating heavy objects and display elements in the space. In its place "reflection makers" are used that mirror and multiply in the main space of the store while serving its basic functions.

The space is divided with large colored glass panels. These panels themselves are sandwiches of glass with varying reflection gradients accentuating the play of natural and artificial light in the display area. These partitioning surfaces thus emerge as sculptural installations.

Graphic, in line with the tone of the products on display and the design of the architect, are used to further heighten the ambiance and its experience. Photo wallpapers and coordinated carpets are used to this effect.
