General View of the interiors. Attention given to different materials and blue lighting.

Tied in with the adjacent disco is the Opera Bar located in the Larcomar Entertainment Center in Lima, Peru. The space was designed in order to create a cool atmosphere, serving as a transition space to the disco. The shimmering entrance facade is made up of shattered glass, which leads onto a fractured view of the deep blue, dark interior. Inside, the floors are blends of cement, nogal wood and high-tech, industrial stamped metal sheets around the curved bar which is faced with assorted shades and tints of gray mosaic tile.

Use of different materials: cement, wood, metal, tiles and neon.

The sweeping lines of the bar, the round columns and the arcs of metal railing all add a sense of rhythm and sensuality to the Opera Bar. Increasing that feeling, the blue light emanates from the hidden neon strips under the curved ceiling elements, and the black and down lights reflect off the blue painted surfaces.

Highlighted Wall: One feature wall is highlighted with a harlequin design made of three shades of blue.

One feature wall is highlighted with a harlequin design executed in three shades of blue. Nogal-wood frames the windows that have a view out to the water. These wood frames also outline an open viewing area into the disco next door. This frame is equipped with a "retro black light" that illuminates the blue wall around it. "The mood is blue - and fashionable", says Jose Orrego of Metropolis, the designer of the bar.
