The Building

Loft 34 is located in a late XIX century industrial building. Originally housing the first electrical sub-plant in Buenos Aires City, the building has changed owners several times. Currently it is occupied largely by artists, designers and architects.

The loft is located in the wing dedicated to residential use. However the brief required the design to be flexible enough to allow traditional uses of the space as well.

The ground floor is organized so as to allow flexibility of use.

The site was largely delineated with a small bathroom and a patio with a construction on the back. The intervention is modest in scale and tone with the introduction of a mezzanine to double the area.
