The Building

The new terminal at Eindhoven Airport is designed to process between 1.2 and 1.5 million business travellers and tourists every year. Besides channelling this traffic smoothly and safely through departures and arrivals, the airport offers them a pleasant space to pause, dine or interact within.

The new terminal is interpreted as a 'machine' that processes the primary flow of departing and arriving passengers through the terminal in an efficient manner. The departure, arrival and baggage halls are located on the ground level. The hospitality areas, offices and the panorama terrace are located on the level above.

The designers adopted primary colors to allow for ease of recognition of the various spaces and functions located within the terminal.

A three pronged formula -- Small, Medium, Large -- was developed for the hospitality in the terminal in collaboration with Belvedair. The Large restaurant designed as part of this formula includes custom-designed furniture in a warm, attractive ambience marked with classic elements.
