The Building

The design for a single family residence, created within an already existing building, focuses on the juxtaposition of diverse spatial entities to create its unique architectural vocabulary. These are created through the merging of primary volumes and fluid objects with curvilinear structures.

From the street the house appears as a tower seated on sloping, grassy lawn. A wall at the lower end of the site contrasts with the tower whilst sharing its base. A coordinated succession of shapes and supple lines rises from it, articulating a prismatic, triple- height structure. The external glass walls allow the Sun and the sky to continuously re-interpret the architectural discourse, varying its perception and plasticity.
