Words from the architect
Brief: Basic 4 bedroom, 2 bath house on as small one story footprint as possible

Concept: Group the program requirements into public and private. The public became the larger, open space in the middle, with the smaller private spaces feeding into it. Based in the concept of pavilion - the large open space opens onto more intimate space. The orientation was for solar control as well as views of the nearby mountains. The north and south sides open to outdoor courtyards, creating more space

Materials: Wood frame 2x6 construction due to cost, ease and better insulation. No VOC paints for health, mud adobe walls outside for environment and texture
