Living and Dining Interior.
Words from the architect
The client was a developer who thought a modern house in this location would sell well. He studied the market and developed a brief to suit the market.
The design evolved from a pragmatic solution to the accommodation required coupled with an architectural language that has been developed through an interest in modernist architecture of the 50's and 60's along with the use of tactile materials. Our history designing in Asia also influenced the work.
Stone, steel, timber and glass are used. Stone to give a sense of solidity, steel to crisp up details, timber for warmth and glass for light.
The spaces are designed around functions, where possible they flow into each other to give a greater sense of space.
