Words from the architect

Light accentuates concrete's texture. (Photo: Maricarmen Chavez Galas).
The client is a just married couple. They asked for a loft with possibility of an addition in the future.
They wanted simple forms and few materials.
We visualized a box that at its exterior is open to the landscape at one side and blind at others. A fluid space inside in which one space becomes the next one, giving the sun light an important part in this composition.

The bedroom's volume intersects the main volume. (Photo: Maricarmen Chavez Galas).
The house is made of concrete. The open side is of clear and white crystals. The kitchen is made of white and green corian. The bedroom access has a white crystal lattice that gives it the required privacy.

The lattice in the facade filters natural light to the inside. (Photo: Maricarmen Chavez Galas).
The loft has a rectangular shape with a strong connection with the landscape at one side and blind walls at the others. At the interior, the access has a narrow corridor. Under the corridor is the kitchen countertop. The kitchen is a very long space. It receive the sunlight and the landscape view. The corridor is also connected to the master bedroom.
