Bar - frontal.
Words from the architect
The building, a former bank, is located in Luckenwalde, Brandenburg, Germany.
It is close to the rail station which has a direct connection to Berlin.

Bar - total.
The client was looking for a flexible concept to match different target groups on a low budget basis.
pjmvdm developed a concept for a gastro-space that has the atmosphere of a cafe in the daytime and changes into a cocktail bar in the evenings.

Bar - detail.
While the budged was particularly low and the actual space was massive, a colour scheme devides the main room into different zones for example orange = Cafe & gastro zone, magenta = bar & lounge area, blue = safe & function room.
Most of the minimalistic furniture has been specially designed. Bar, bar stools and most of the other furniture is all made of dark wood.

Lounge area - empty, the furniture has been especially designed for this project.
The almost mirror-like floor finish is a resin-coated through colour screed.
The special colour scheme and indirect lighting transforms the daytime cafe into a lounge bar with an almost magical atmosphere.

Lounge area - occupied.
The massive safe was left in its place and functions as an almost surreal object.

The safe and a light installation.

View down the corridor towards the safe.
