Words from the architect
This project was recently completed in Sausalito CA and was intended to be refreshingly small, simple and crude, yet feel spacious and light-filled. Your eye is never forced to stop where it does not want to, making this mere 1200 SF of house seem expansive, non-confining, and yet still offers a feeling of solid shelter. No expensive finishes were used. The very bones of the building are its architecture. It is made entirely of common lumber and common metals, only they were used very carefully.
