Words from the Architect
MdL Architecten has initialised this project and searched and gathered all parties concerned to start this project.
De Koning Wessels Vastgoed bv participated in the developement of this project in 2006.
De plot of Caritas (landowner) is situated at the edge of the village Hoeven and is located near to Bosbad Hoeven, a recreational park with green surroundings.
On designproposal of MdL, Caritas chose to develop its property aiming for high social - and quality-planning. Not only are the houses suitable for less-abled usage, but also for revalidating, underpriviliged, etc. The design aims to bring more diversity in the mostly montone direct surrounding.
All the houses and the terrain are designed to be accesible for handicapped and wheelchairs.

One housing-type contains two-units. Due to a sliding wall in the middle, the two-units are usable as one to facilitate larger groups of tenants.
These particular units are located around a common terrain to create the ability for groups to gather, recreate, barbecue, etc. The smaller units for instance are designed to accomodate single-family usage, by example a family with a disabled member.
By designing different types of units, the letting can be applicated more flexible. Each house has an extra wide entrance and hallway as to make room for wheelchairs, etc.
This midsection is strongley expressed by its storey-high view under the roof.
The choice of materials for the project was dictated by the recreational and natural surroudings. The facades and the roofs of the houses are covered with natural slates of blended grey colour. The window - and doorframes, as well as the lamellas are made out of wood finished with tranparant lightly coloured stain.
The project has recently been nominated by the planning authority 2006-2008 in the region of Noord-Brabant. De commencement of the project is estimated medio 2008.
