The Muji cushion, arranged vertically.
Here is a "body fitting sofa" that (no wonder) takes the shape of the body that occupies it. Interestingly it serves two different types of seating habits. When put out flat horizontally it expands and resembles something of a bean bag. This position seems to be ideal for lazing or napping.
When arranged vertically the sofa retains some of its stiffness and can serve well for watching TV or reading.
This double function is actually achieved quite simply. Imagine a whole blobby mass of a roughly cubical cushion made out of a stretch fabric, filled with, of course, beans (6 kilograms of it). Now imagine a strip of Canvas wrapped around four sides of it like a band.
