Studio ST Architects is a young, creative and full service architectural firm located in midtown Manhattan. We believe in innovative and responsible design. Each and every project on which we have worked has posed new challenges, and we thrive on finding innovative solutions regardless of scale, complexity and budget. We have been very successful in doing projects with very tight budgets for developers, designing a gut renovation and large addition in New York City for $135 per square foot construction cost. We have been equally successful in doing high-end interiors with complex details and lavish materials for over $600 per square foot.

Our built work is a combination of high-end residential renovations and new construction projects for real-estate developers. We completed a four-apartment townhouse in Brooklyn in 2005 and a number of duplex renovations in 2006.

We are comfortable with and excited by new computer technologies and the changes they permit in design and production methods, and we experiment with these tools in creative ways. We believe that asking the questions is the key to innovation, the way to uncover new understandings of old problems. In each project we aspire to identify and solve its particular challenges through careful planning of forms, materials, details and spatial organization.

Studio ST Architects was founded by Esther Sperber in 2004 after spending five years at Pei Partnership Architects and having the privilege of working closely with Mr. I M Pei. We spent our first year entering international competitions allowing us to develop our design process and formal language. We have continued to participate in international competitions every year and have recently been semi finalists for the Czech Republic National Library Building in Prague.
