Window Window

"Window Window" as the name suggests, is a window within a window. Designer Sebastian Bergne questions the norms of vision and privacy through this project. "Window Window" cannot be categorised as a curtain/blind/shutter/pane surface, and yet is not completely unique of these categories. More

Sebastian Bergne

Born in 1966, Sebastian Bergne lives and works in London and Bologna. His work is characterised more by his approach than by a formal signature.

There is a pursuit of innovation in his work that comes from a delicate combination of cultural reference, humour, functional reevaluation, and a close contact with materials and manufacturing technology. Each project is a new beginning...

He studied Industrial Design from 1985-88 at the Central School of Art and Design (London) and then at the Royal College of Art (London), graduating in 1990 with distinction.

The studio was established in 1990 and has since collaborated with many internationally renowned manufacturers of consumer products and furniture.

His work has been widely published, exhibited, included in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Design Museum (London) and honoured with numerous international design awards.

Throughout his career, Sebastian Bergne has regularly contributed to graduate and postgraduate design education in respected institutions including the Royal College of Art in London, ECAL Lausanne and the Free University of Bolzano (Italy).
