Michael Bihain
After training as a butcher and carpenter, Michael Bihain studied interior design at Liege's Institut Saint-Luc and at Hull University in England. By 1998 he had set up a design studio and was able to develop his first prototypes.
In France, Michael Bihain works with the Chizat Company on the development of computer furniture; (for which he won the Aide a la creation et innovation prize) and as a result, was commissioned to design furniture of the British Council in Paris.
In London, he worked with MMA and then founded the BIHAINprod studio; his research work here is centred on drawings and the production of one-off creations.
In Belgium he is involved in the development of furniture, jewellery and accessories.
In 2000 his activities in Belgium diversified:
Michael Bihain currently teaches furniture at Saint-Luc.
One of his works will be exhibited at the Seoul Design Museum.
