Native of Lithuania, Massimiliano Fuksas was born in Rome in 1944, where he graduated in Architecture at "La Sapienza University" in 1969.
In 1967, 1989 and 1993 he established practices in Rome, Paris and Vienna respectively and since 2002 he opened a new studio in Frankfurt.
From 1998 to 2000 he was Director of the VII Biennale Internazionale di Architettura di Venezia "Less Aesthetics, More Ethics".
Doriana was born in Rome where she graduated in History of Modern and Contemporary Architecture at in 1979. She attended the Faculty of Architecture at La Sapienza University of Rome.
Her projects are characterized by a continuous search in new materials and new realization techniques. Her immediacy to the process of design enables connections to be made between, study models built in the workshop and digital models realized with the latest software. She lives and works in Rome and Paris.
She has been a member of the executive board of INARCH (National Institute of Architecture), and the director of an architectural series for "Carte Segrete Edizioni" in Rome. She carried out didactic activities at the Institute of History of Art in the Faculty of Letters and Arts in Rome (University "La Sapienza")
She held the position of Curator of the Architecture's Section at the VII Biennale di Architettura in Venice 1999-2001.At the VII International Show of Architecture at the Biennale in Venice (June - October 2000) she was in charge of the four special sections dedicated to Jean Prouve, Jean Maneval, the Peace Pavilion and architecture of Spaces, and the art section.
In 2004 she was in charge of the exhibition "Forma: La citta moderna e il suo passato" at Colosseo in Rome.
She has acted as a correspondent from Paris for ARCA review, and correspondent from Rome for City Magazine International. In 2002 she was awarded Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la Repubblique Francaise.
Since 1985 she has been cooperating with Massimiliano Fuksas. Since 1997 she has been responsible for the Fuksas design section.
