Graftworks: Formed by Lawrence Blough in 1999 with the goal to produce small to medium scale projects with a high degree of conceptual and technological innovation, Graftworks provides innovative architecture and design services for residential, commercial and institutional construction.

Each project is approached as a unique investigation that develops out of research into a diverse field of disciplines that are associated with the client's aspirations, building program, and site.

The office has completed many residential and commercial projects in the last seven years including a hanging stair/loft renovation in Chelsea, a 6,000 s.f. office renovation for a Midtown technology firm, and a 8,500 s.f. mountain retreat in Stratton Vermont. In 2005 Graftworks was a finalist in the PS1 / MoMA Young Architects Program. Interior Design has featured Graftworks' design projects in 2001, 2002, and 2004 including a Penthouse Roof Garden in their issue on new talent in the design profession. In 2001, Architectural Record published a profile of the office and work in Archrecord2: For the Emerging Architect. Two recent books on houses feature Graftworks' design for a mountain retreat in Vermont.
