Peter van Assche
Bureau SLA is an Amsterdam-based architecture design practice with an international team of architects, interior designers and landscape architects supported by an architecture historian and a real estate portfolio manager.
Their work ranges from large scale urban design to vision statements.
Peter van Assche is the principle architect of bureau SLA. He started his career as a scientist.
During his studies he worked at the German Aerospace Center near Munich, graduated cum laude as information scientist and started his PhD at the Institute for Experimental Mathematics in Essen, Germany.
In Essen he discovered his interest in design and in 2001 graduated from the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design.
He has since worked with renowned architects as Sjoerd Soeters, Dick van Gameren and Bjarne Mastenbroek, played piano in concerts and worked as a journalist in the architectural field in Berlin.
He won the Iktinos award and has received several prizes. His work has been rewarded with various grants, amongst them a grant from the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture.
